Our VIC volunteers do an amazing job supporting the Visitors to the Mountain and local Businesses. Have you thought about offering some of your time?
Perhaps it’s a little early to be thinking about New Year’s resolutions but to plant a philanthropic seed, perhaps volunteering at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) maybe something to consider. The volunteers at the VIC do an outstanding job, meeting, greeting and sharing information about the Scenic Rim with thousands of visitors on a daily basis.
This year they will welcome about 18,000 visitors through the doors of the iconic Centre. The Mountain and surrounding areas would be left short without this vital customer service offering. Volunteering at the VIC is a rewarding way of sharing local knowledge and meeting interesting travellers, everyone always has a story.

A public vote now decides the winner! We need your help!
Congratulations Tamborine Mountain! The Queensland Tourism Industry Council has named Tamborine Mountain as one of the finalists in the Top Tourism Town Awards 2023. However, there is a second stage to the judging and the Mountain needs YOUR HELP! A public vote is now open and will close on Wednesday 24th May 2023. The next Chamber event is for all employers with vacant roles and potential employees. An interactive speed dating evening giving candidates opportunities to meet, socialise and interact with employers. Included in the evening will be a module on business leadership. Could improvements to your leadership style reduce your employee turnover? This event will take place on Wednesday, 24th May, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Backroom of North Stores on Main St. Attendance at the event is free, contact the secretary for a ticket.

The Chamber has supported and sponsored the completion and submission of an entry for Tamborine Mountain in the Queensland Top Tourism Town Award. If the entry achieves a score of 75% from the judges, Tamborine Mountain will once again be a finalist in the awards. However, there is then a second part to the judging where the entries are put to a public vote! The public voting will only be open from Monday 8th May to Wednesday 24th May and we will need your help to win the public vote. The video travels the Mountain over two days. Beginning with Verandah House to Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation to the Organic Farm on the roadside, past Robert Sowter Park Lookout and the paragliders and onto Gallery Walk for a bite at Franquette, a visit to e360, and then onto Witches Falls Winery and the Glow Worms at Cedar Creek Estate before finishing the evening at Cedar Creek Lodges.
Day 2 starts with a morning visit to Tamborine Mountain Distillery and an afternoon of entertainment at Cauldron Distillery. The landscapes and rainforests are simply stunning. It’s amazing how much can be packed into a 2-minute video, and yes there is so much more to see on the Mountain!

In practical terms one way this is achieved is through the ‘Best of Tamborine Mountain’ Official Visitor Guide. The Chamber coordinates this brochure to support businesses on the Mountain. It is distributed to over 950 locations including apartments, hotels, resorts, petrol stations, car-rentals, tour desks and Visitor Information Centres, and not forgetting the map boards located across the Mountain. In the last year 80,000 copies have been distributed from Byron to Brisbane. Now is the time for your business to be showcased in the 2023/24 Visitor Guide, however time is running out with advertising opportunities closing on Friday, 17th March.
In 2022, Tamborine Mountain was awarded the Top Tourism Town Award, by Queensland’s top tourism organisation, Queensland Tourism Industry Council. The winning of this coveted award was sponsored and supported by members of the Chamber. One of the major benefits of Chamber membership include the opportunity to advertise in the ‘Best of Tamborine Mountain’ Official Visitor Guide, which has been a major contributor to Chamber’s financial wellbeing for over 30 years. In turn, this enables Chamber to be a valuable sponsor to worthy causes and opportunities on our Mountain.
